It was with immense sadness that we have received the news that His Eminence Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Gulpayegani passed away yesterday in Iran, at the age of 103 years.

His demise is a huge loss to the Shi'i community worldwide and we convey our sincere condolences to the Imam of the time, Imam Mahdi (ajtfs), to the family and to loved ones of his Eminence. May Allah (swt) elevate his station in the proximity of His chosen ones, Ameen.

Ayatollah has written many books, including the well-known Muntakhab al-Athar Fi al-Imam al-Thani Ashar.
