AYC News

Salaams all,
Want to go paintballing again? go-karting? on a trip to Paris? Anything else?
Well it's that time of the year again, and this time long overdue!
The AYC AGM will take place on Friday 9rd November and begin with an open discussion on what you the YOUTH of Birmingham want from the AYC and what you think of it so far.
Straight after this, the action will begin, with the eagerly anticipated elections.
The positions up for graps include:
- President (The Gaffer)
- Vice President (The Gaffer's Sidekick)
- 5 Male Committee Members (Dudes)
- 5 Female Committee Members (Dudettes - I think that's the word!)
The programme will strat straight after the Mosque Eid-e-Mubahila programme on Friday night, so no excuses for not being there... I'm watching you!
So, why should you join the AYC?
Being in the AYC is an awesome opportunity to network with some cool people, be given some real responsibilty, work in a great team, put some cool stuff on your CV (which helps with job & uni applications - i've done that!) and get some awesome experience.
Plus with the fact that you're representing over 300 youths in the community and that you can possibly have a huge impact on their lives, it's not really something you should turn down.
If you want to know more info or have any suggestions, please get in touch.
See you all on Friday 9th November!!
Wsalaam

Salaams all,

Want to go paintballing again? go-karting? on a trip to Paris? Anything else?

Well it's that time of the year again, and this time long overdue!

So, why should you join the AYC?

Please take a few moments to give us some feedback from the Muharram 1432 English programmes. We would value your views for future EC and AYC events, and other initiatives that we did in Muharram.

WRITERS WANTED!

To enlighten the youth on our great Islamic saints and personalities we are looking for youth to write short articles.

These articles should be based around the upcoming functions in the mosque. For example, just before the Wafaat of a particular personality we will remember in Muharram, the article will be emailed out to the youth and also feature on the Jamaat website (www.ksmnet.org).

These articles should be kept to a few paragraphs and highlight anything particularly interesting you found when researching the personality.

This is a really great opportunity for us to help and gain from each other's research. We really hope the youth can contribute in numbers so that we can really start uplifting this community together!

If you would like to write an article, contact any Abbasi Youth Committee member, or abbasiyouth@gmail.com, with the personality you would like to write about.

The following is a list of upcoming mosque programmes that we need articles for:
  • Wednesday 12th January = Wafaat of 2nd Imam (as)
  • Saturday 15th January = Wafaat of Bibi Sakina (as)
  • Wednesday 2nd February = Wafaat of Holy Prophet (pbuh)
  • Thursday 3rd February = Wafaat 8th Imam (as)

Click the links below to access the relevant quiz. There will be daily quizzes based on Syed Saleh Al-Qazwini's lectures.

The overall winner will receive an iPad 16GB with WiFi. Second prize is a canvas print and third prize is an iPod Shuffle.
