Upcoming Programs

We have with us here today the President of the Council of European Jamaat’s, Dr Hussein Jiwa who would like to address the community this evening. There will be a Q&A session with Dr Asghar Moledina, Dr Hussein Jiwa and Shan-e-Abbas Hassam immediately after the main program tonight.

As you may be aware, Inayat Moledina’s mother in law is suffering from leukaemia, he would like to make an appeal on her behalf.

Fajr Jamaat Salaat this weekend, the 15th and 16th of March, will Insha’Allah be held at 5:30am

The Jamaat’s next scheduled program will Insha’Allah be the Jumeraat program on Thursday the 20th of March. The program will start with Maghribain Salaat at the awwal time being 6:31pm followed by the A’amaals of Nawrooz. The main program will start at 8pm with Sura Yaseen followed by Du'a Kumayl, Majlis and ending with Ziyarat Waritha.

Seminar - Islamic Wills in the West

A reminder, the seminar on Islamic Wills in the West is to be held this Sunday the 16th of March after Zohrain Salaat ending with Nyaz. The seminar will answer crucial questions on Wills – an obligatory act for all Muslims-in the context of British law. All those who have registered are requested to attend on time, those who did not manage to register by the deadline but would like to attend, there are still a few spaces available, kindly give your names at the Treasury desks both in the ladies and the gents by tonight.

At the last Khoja Question Time it was suggested that more youths join the various sub-committees of the Jamaat, I would now like to invite not just the youths but anyone who is interested to join any of the subcommittees to kindly email their details and the subcommittee they wish to join to This email address is being protected from spambots. Annual Subscription

The deadline to pay the annual Jamaat Subscription is fast approaching which is the end of this month. Those who haven’t as yet paid are reminded to please pay as soon as possible in order to avoid incurring the joining fee payable if the subscription is not paid by the 31st of March.

Bone Marrow Donor

Sister Shamim Sabur, mother in law of Inayat Moledina, is currently suffering from leukaemia and is in need of an urgent bone marrow transplant. This will require a matching donor from the worldwide registry. Her best chance for a match is someone from an ethnic background, but unfortunately, there are not many in the database. Therefore, the family is humbly requesting that those wishing to help, please join the registry @ www.DeleteBloodCancer.org.uk.

Spouse Selection Workshop - Cancelled

The Council of European Jamaat’s regrets to inform that the Pre-Engagement workshop that was scheduled for this Saturday the 15th of March here at Mehfil-e-Abbas (AS) has been cancelled due to low uptake. They are in the process of rescheduling this event which will be announced once confirmed.


Save Muslim Heritage in collaboration with the Ahlul Bayt Society’s from the City of Birmingham presents: "EMPOWERING THE VOICELESS" on Friday the 21st of March from 7pm to 10pm. The event will be held at the University of Birmingham. For more information, please speak to either Ahmed Gokal or Gulshan Bharwani.

Announcement for Ladies:
"The Islamic Woman"

AHSN presents "The Islamic Woman", a three part series. The 1st part will be held on Saturday the 29th of March at 3.15pm. This session will be conducted by Sister Fatma Asaria of London and looks in depth at fiqh issues that affect women (all ladies Masails covered). Keep an eye out for more information on part 2&3. Yoga Classes

Free Yoga Classes for gents will be held 3 times a week in the Sports Hall on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays starting immediately after Maghribain Jamaat Salaat. All gents are urged to take full advantage of this free facility.

Easter Revision Course 2014

The Education Board of The Council of European Jamaat’s is pleased to announce their upcoming Easter Revision Course which is to be held from Sunday the 6th to Friday the 11th of April. This year, the course will be held at Malvern St James, an independent boarding and day school located in Great Malvern. This school boasts state of the art teaching and recreational facilities which will help students concentrate during the day and unwind at night. Transport will be provided by CoEJ. GCSE RE Revision Course

The Council of European Jamaat’s in partnership with the World Federation presents GCSE RE exams skills course 2014 on Monday the 5th of May from 10am to 5pm at the Hyderi Islamic Centre, South London for all students sitting the units 8 and 9 exams in June 2014. Behlool Society present 'Annual Easter Camp'

The Behlool Society’s 3rd annual Easter Camp will be running from Good Friday the 18th of April to Easter Monday the 21st of April 2014. The camp will consist of learning activities, debates, team building exercises and leisure activities such as Go karting, Swimming, Fifa tournament and much more.
