Everyday is Ashura! Every Land is Kerbala!

Imam Amir-ul-Mu'mineen Ali (as) said: "The tears do not dry up save for the hearts being hard, and hearts do not harden but because of the abundance of sins."
Imam Ridha (A.S.) said:One who refrains from seeking his (worldly) desires on the day of Ashura, Allah shall grant him his desires of this world and the hereafter.

Whilst listening to a munaajat the other day, it struck me how I had never really appreciated how beautiful these words were when praising Allah (s.w.t) and listing his attributes but then I pondered further and thought of how words are too limited to even comprehend the beauty of Allah (s.w.t).  Allah (s.w.t), who has blessed us with so much but has no limits and still gifts his creation with their wants, as it says in the Qur'an ‘Tell my servants to call unto me and I will answer them'.  Do we ever appreciate what he has given us or do we fail to stop even for a second in our busy schedules just to say thank you Allah (s.w.t)  for all that you have given us?  Just a few seconds out of the 24 hour day he has blessed us with.  We look at our surroundings, everything that we take for granted has been given to us by Allah (s.w.t) but do we realise it?

We can never appreciate the blessings of Allah (s.w.t) enough, after all each new day brings new blessings such as sustenance, good health, education, family and much more.  In this life it is our duty to become better Muslims and to develop ourselves spiritually, something which requires perseverance and patience on our behalf but in the end it is a goal worth achieving.  At the end of it, it is our obedience to our Lord who has showered us with his mercy and who hides our faults from those closest to us.  Allah (s.w.t) truly loves us, the evidence of this is the way he gives us in limitless amounts and has given us the ability to realise this.  Let us pray to Allah (s.w.t) that we are able to achieve a high level of spirituality with his help.
